Scheme for Buxton Museum
Buxton lies at the heart of a landscape rich in significant archaeological sites in the Peak District. As part of a proposal to the Heritage Lottery Fund, we were asked in 2014 to provide suggestions for the complete renewal of a gallery describing the history of the area. The gallery illustrates the geological basis of the Peak; the earliest evidence of animals and humans in the area after the last ice age; industry from bronze age through to the nineteenth century; leading up to the social history of the area in the twentieth century. Our scheme aimed to introduce visual delight amongst all the archaeological terminology.
